I have been playing with Hipstamatic again for this week’s artistic kitties and selfies. In this case I have been using the Oggl app, which is Hipstamatic’s social network. That app makes it a little easier for me to find the filter and film combinations I want. You have to shell out for a yearly membership, though, but it is quite reasonable. I used the Manchester combination of Smith lens and Cheshire film for my flag image, which has a really neat washed out, grungy look.

And here is the original from my 4th of July photos.

First up of the kitties is this really cool shot of Raja which shows him almost completely washed out, but with greens and purples in the foliage and background. And then the image appears to be overlaid onto some very pale newsprint. I used Kruezberg combo of Johannesburg lens and Strausburg film to get this effect.

Here is the original shot of Raja on the steps of our deck.

Next comes our little huntress, Zoe. Her first picture shows her getting ready for the hunt, descending onto the deck steps, surveying the yard. I used the Basel combination of Muller lens and Frutiger film. It is more than a washed out image and is pretty much black, grey, and white, but with splashes of yellow. I thought it was pretty cool.

And here is the original selfie of Zoe, getting ready for the hunt.

She got a little tired from her hunting and went to lay down on the chair. I used this cool filter combination, Dali with Salvador 84 lens and DreamCanvas film to get a slightly double image. I Love this combo.

And here is the original of my beautiful girl.

As a tribute to my Doctor, Peter Capaldi, who is leaving Doctor Who this Christmas, (very sad), I couldn’t resist making this image of my Raja regenerating using the Fashion combination of Teichman lens and Runway film.
He’s not really regenerating. [Spoiler Alert] Maybe he managed to stop his regeneration like Peter Capaldi did in the final episode of the regular season last Saturday. [End Spoiler Alert]. Or maybe it was like Matt Smith, who regenerated to himself during the 2013 Dr Who Christmas special before finally becoming Peter Capaldi. At any rate, Raja appears to have the yellow glow of regeneration energy here in this photo.

This is the original of my boy as his original self. Which proves he’s not going anywhere.
And for the non-Whovians here, regeneration is the device Dr Who has used to let new actors take on the mantle of the Doctor. This has enabled the show stay around and fresh for over 50 years. We are waiting to find out who the new Doctor will be. Raja will be watching.
I love these effects! The flag and Zoe relaxing are my favorites. I was sorry to hear that Peter Capaldi is leaving Doctor Who. He has been a great Doctor.

Thanks, and thanks for stopping by. I like those two pics as well. Dream Canvas is one of my favorite Hipstamatic films. Sad, but true about Peter Capaldi leaving. He is my favorite Doctor.

Hi, Erin here.
I have enlarged the size of the text on my blog, I hope it isn’t too small now. I wish I could do that for the mice I find but seems like it doesn’t work that way! MOL
