Thankful For Water

Bottled Water
Bottled Water

Hi all.  We is really thankful for our water.  Three days ago mommy heard on the tv, and email, and websites, and radio that local authorities are recommending kids and pets and elderly drink bottled water because there is a toxic algal bloom in our water supply.  And boiling, filtering, and chlorine don’t work to purify it.  Just ducky.  We had several gallons of water in our garage, but mommy ran out to get more yesterday morning.  Of course, there was very little on the shelves, but she managed to get some.  She went out again a little later to get more.

Since the summer is heating up, this could go on for awhile.  The city is continuing to monitor this, and even divert from other water sources.  And they have posted places to fill up bottles in a neighboring community, and lots of folks there are inviting us to come over and fill up.

My bruver is having fits, since he likes to drink from the faucet, and mommy won’t let him.  But we still haz our water fountain and our outside water bowls full of clean water.  Mommy even made hummingbird nectar for the hummers from bottled water.

So we is very thankful for the water that Mommy is able to get for us, for the city working to solve the problems, and for good neighbors willing to share their clean water.

And in other news, we is continuing to lie on the deck and lounge in chairs.

    1. It really is a pain. Supposedly, a healthy adult is still sorta ok to drink the water, but we are not taking any chances. Hope they resolve this quickly.

    1. Thanks. The gov has now ordered distribution in our town. We shouldn’t be without access to clean water. But it is going to be a pain to deal with.

  1. I am not surprised you are grateful for fresh clean water, it is such a gift and something we need to treasure. I hope you cope OK over the summer.

    1. Thank you. We are at least fortunate that we were able to find bottled water fairly quickly. The governor declared a state of emergency and called in the national guard to distribute water in several places. One of them is very near me, and is in a place where I already play Pokémon Go. Easy to get to, since I already go there. 😀

  2. Does this happen often? That’s scary! Also we know abouts where you guys live now! Our mom’s friend called her to talk about this happening in her town! Our mom buys lots of bottled water

    1. No. I think this is the first time it has ever happened here. It is a royal pain. Thank goodness we were able to buy sufficient bottled water the first day. And now they have stationed water trucks in several places in the city. One of them is in a park near me where I already go to play Pokémon Go. Yael

      1. That’s awesome! Our mom loves Pokemon Go. Water trucks is a really nice thing they are doing to help combat the yucky water. It’s been weirdly hot here too and that is probably why your water is so yucky this year too 😦
