Cone Head Caturday Art

Yes, my Raja is a cone head. Such a sad thing for Caturday Art. Last Monday, my boy came back into the house and was a little mopey. A little while later, I was petting him and stroked his tail as well. He let out a squeak. I did it again on purpose to see what was wrong, and he squeaked again and ran off. He would not let me check out the tail. I decided to wait until another person was home to look at him, but he had hidden. I called the vet and made an appointment for the next morning.

It wasn’t until 9:30 that he came out of hiding. We got a good look at a gash on his tail, and decided to take him to the emergency vet, because he looked pretty uncomfortable. They checked him out. The good news was there was no break. The bad news was three gashes on his tail. Best guess was this was from a bite, but they weren’t sure. He got an antibiotic shot, some anti inflammatory pills, and an Elizabethan collar. My poor little Cone Head. He hates it.

Here are a couple of pictures with his cone. Poor boy. I used Lunapic Illusion for the first and Brave for the second.

Oh, and the originals are here too.

I just know that Zoe is snickering up her paw at Raja’s pathetic look. She just watches him drag himself from window to window to press his nose against the glass. I used Lunapic again with the Kandinsky filter for this photo ofZoe checking Raja out. I love the yellow and black.

Zoe mostly watches from afar at Raja’s misfortune. Here I used Lunapic again with the Edatonist filter.

And this is the original photo.

Today our regular vet checked out Raja and thinks he is looking pretty good. With any luck, he will be able to go outside next week. He is feeling better, so he is really starting to complain about being inside. And the mopey look is just sad.

  2. Poor Raja! Cats usually look pathetic in those cones; it must be so uncomfortable for them. Your artwork of him looks wonderful, and you used two of my favorite effects for the pictures of Zoe. Hope Raja gets that stupid ol’ cone off soon!

    1. Thanks. With any luck, I will get to get rid of this thing next week. In the mean time, I have almost managed to get it off of me, but Mommy keeps putting it back on.

  4. Poor Raja. I wonder if he gets good reception in there since it’s a soft satellite dish. MOL! I was afraid he got his tail lopped off at the end like Nicky did.

    1. The cone slows him down but doesn’t prevent him from licking his tail. And sometimes he partially gets it off and ends up with a tutu. Now, that is funny.

  5. So sorry to hear Raja has been in the wars but it does sort of make for some excellent pictures using the photo image tools. The first is our favourite as it looks like Raja has a bonnet on.

    1. Thanks Erin. I think I like that one and the Zoe Kandinsky ones are my favorites. He is really starting to feel his oats now and is very noisy about going out.

  6. So sorryt about that Cone, Raja. But glad to hear your tail is intact and we have to say that that is one of the most handsome cones we’ve seen! Given the circumstances you are looking very spiffy. We also enjoyed your human’s art work and learned about a new lunatic filter!

  7. Oh, ouch. I’m glad he turned up in time for the vet visit. It seems like these little noodles always know when there’s a trip to the vet in their future. Hoping for quick healing.

    1. Thank you. I hope to get this ting off soon. Mommy won’t let me outside. I howl. I don’t like it that Zoe makes fun of me. It would serve her right to get a cone.
