Spacey Griffith Park Observatory
Spacey Griffith Park Observatory

Back from my travels. It has taken a week to recuperate from a week with family during Sukkot in LA, meeting my granddaughters fiancé and doing stuff with them, going by car from LA to the Bay Area, then on to Yosemite with my granddaughter before arriving in Sacramento for my nephew’s wedding. It was fun, but exhausting. Just a little bit going on, don’t you think? Here are a few of the pics for some Trippy Caturday Art. In all the years I lived in LA, I had never been to the Griffith Park Observatory. We went with my granddaughter and her fiancé. Of course, I did this in Lunapic Space.

And here is the original of the observatory. We had only two hours parking so couldn’t go to any of the presentations, but we did get to look at many of the displays which were very cool.

My Grand Kitty Nuggles
My Grand Kitty Nuggles

My Grand Kitty, Nuggles, is a very sweet kitty, which my son has had since his twins were born twelve years ago. I don’t see him often, but he always remembers me, and comes over and climbs on my lap, trapping me for quite a bit of time. I took this picture of him on my lap, and used the Lunapic Landscape filter. I liked the way this turned out.

Elisheva And Dan In Solvang

I rode up to the Bay Area with my granddaughter and her fiancé, and stopped at Solvang along the way. It is a really cool Danish-ish town along the way with lots of touristy things to see and lots of shops. This is a photo I got of them on the stairs of this cool windmill. I used Lunapic Candy filter since this was near a candy shop.

Bro’s Bright Orange Truck Again
Bro’s Bright Orange Truck Again

We spent a couple of days at my brothers house, which was filled with wedding hooha and decorations, which the bride made herself, along with the flower arrangements. My brother drove on up to the wedding venue near Sacramento for the practice run, while I hung out another day and drove up with my granddaughter via Yosemite. This is my brothers new toy, an orange truck. The story behind this is that when my brother was four, my father asked him what his favorite color was. He replied Orange. My father then purchased a bright orange truck. My brother just purchased a new truck with the same color Ford had used on my dad’s truck in his honor. So cool. I used the Autumn Photo Frames app to frame the photo of the truck. That’s my bro driving, his wife in the back seat, and my sister in the front seat. The truck is totally packed with wedding stuff.

The Wedding
The Wedding

And here is a collage of some wedding photos. I used Pic Joiner for this. My nephew and his new wife love Anime, SciFi, and Gothic stuff, and Megan wanted a Gothic wedding, which, of course was on Friday the 13th. The colors were black and black maroon for the wedding party, other than the bride. The same colors were used for decorations, along with gold, while the flowers and accents were pastels. The effect was gorgeous. SciFi crept in, because we were all seated at tables named after something in the Fantasy/SciFi world. I was thrilled to be seated at the Tattooine Table, since I am a big Star Wars fan. The first photo is of our table, Tattooine. There is a photo of me in the stunning masks that Megan made for everyone. And the last one is of Daniel, my nephew, and Megan, his new bride dancing.

It was a wonderful whirlwind of a trip, and I was so happy to Daniel, my brother’s last child married. I was also thrilled to meet another Daniel, my granddaughter, Elisheva’s fiancé. That will make four Daniels in the family, since my son with the twins is also named Daniel, and my cousin is named Daniel. I think we will have to start numbering them.

  1. What a wonderful trip you had! Nuggles is a real cutie. TW had a friend who got married on Friday the 13th over 20 years ago. Both the bride and groom wore black and they had their wedding reception in a n S&M dungeon. TW found it fascinating.

  2. What a wonderful trip, enjoying the stars to travelling to the stars. Wonderful family selfies and the luna pics are excellent especially the Candy filter. Nuggles looks most content too, but then he should as he has a lovely lap to sit on…

  3. Oh my what an eventful, fun and LOVING trip! I absolutely LOVE NUGGLES! What a cutie! LOVE the creativity of the bride too! That wedding had to be so much fun! I have always had a “thing” about windmills (as in I love them), since I was a child. Loved seeing that photo! Mazel Tov!

  4. What a wonderful and full trip you had, Yael. I love all your photos, and what you did with them, art-wise! 🙂

I did not know you had lived before in LA. I grew up in the South Bay there, and lived later in Northeast LA (Eagle Rock, Highland Park, and Pasadena). And I have visited Solvang many times as a child. Fun place!

    1. Thank you. The trip was really fun. I had lived several places in the LA area, starting with Anaheim and then all over the San Fernando Valley. I raised my kids in the Valley.
