Mommy added Google Translate to my blog a few days ago. I don’t know why she did that. Google Translate doesn’t speak Cat! And I don’t speak any of those languages.
She said it would make it easier for most humans to understand the blog. I don’t understand that. When humans speak all I hear is “Bla, Bla, Bla”!
She even thought it was fun to add Latin. I don’t understand that either. Latin is a dead language. She laughed and said “I know”. But she also said she had studied Latin in high school and they had a funny little ditty that went:
Latin is a dead language,
As dead as dead can be,
It killed all the Romans,
And now it’s killing me!
She actually thought that was funny. I thought it was pretty dopey. Why would anybody study a dead language? And why would anyone make up silly ditties about it?
Anyway, mom added Google Translate to my blog, and maybe some humans may actually benefit from it. They may actually come to visit me on my blog. I are beautiful! And maybe I can teach them to speak Cat! Meow! Purrr!

My mum says she would rather speak cat than human. Some humans shouldn’t bother opening their mouths with all the silly things they speak about. Cats are far more intelligent. And we communicate with our thoughts 🙂

Don’t worry – some of us speak cat! I’ve come to understand what my cat’s different meows and purrs mean. I usually talk back to them, which they don’t appreciate for whatever reason.

Thanks for coming by. It is so nice that pet people speak Cat. Both of mine are quite vocal and have taught me well. You are right about speaking to them, I, too, often get a blank stare or quizzical look. All they really want to know is when will I be back, when will I feed them, and when will I pet them.

I bet your Mom has a wonderful vocabulary after taking Latin, the roots of many words are from that.

Rain, Adding Google Translate is a great idea. I’ve had a few complaints in my comment section in the past because my Niptoons don’t translate (they are image based). Cats are smart – they all speak the same language. Humans supposedly have more brain power, but I’m totally convinced that the purpose of that extra brain power is to defeat the logic of the rest of the brain. MOL

Thanks for coming by. Kitties are very wise to have all learned to only speak Cat. I think you are right about what happens with the extra brain power. As for yor Niptoons being image based, you could caption them with the text or a synopsis so the translator would translate that.

You’ll have to keep us posted about how well it works! I know Google has been working hard on that particular tool, boosting its accuracy and such, and I’m hoping that will pay off. And who knows? Maybe a cat version is right around the corner. You never know with Google.
