Kitties Through A Pinhole

I have been having some fun with Hipstamatic for those photos of my kitties. I have been using the Hipstamatic Pinhole filter.  Just look at my Zoe looking up at me.

If you don’t know what Hipstamatic is, it is an app that contains filters that approximate popular film and lens or filter types. So if you want a sharp photojournalism black and white image, or one that looks like a faded 1960’s Kodachrome look, or cool fantasy images, you are likely to find a filter that does this in Hipstamatic if you are willing to pay for the newest filters.  (I have a bunch of them)

So, here are my kitties using the Pinhole filter in black and white. Take a look at the before and after photos. I think the Pinhole filter looks really interesting.

Don’t these look cool?  I love the comparison between the Pinhole image and the original color photo.  The distortions of the Pinhole filter force you to look at the dead center of the image.  And I think it makes my Raja boy look very handsome.

Here is another pair of photos.  Raja is lounging on the pathway.

Raja can be a real pistol.  He is harassing his sister.

And the last photo is of Zoe on the deck in hage favorite chair.  I like the shadow of a cat, too.

I think these are such cool images.  The Pinhole filter really focuses on the center of the image and blurs everything else.  It’s kind of like watching the Starship Enterprise go into warp drive, or watching a scene from a creepy movie.  And I love it that these are my sweet kitties.

    1. Hi Erin,
Thanks for stopping by. Yes, it sort of does add a fourth dimension to the photos. I love playing with those filters. So many different effects.

    1. Thank you! And thanks fir stopping by. If you do decide to download Hipstamatic, it comes with a barebones number of filters. Everything else is optional. The Pinhole effect comes from the Pinhole Snap Pak with Penny Lens and Aristotle film. The Snap pak is probably around $.99. I don’t know if it comes in a larger combo pak or not. But Hipstamatic is lots of fun to play with. I just keep adding on one Snap pack at a time.

    1. Dash Kittens,
Thank you. It was fun making them. We love Catnip, too. However, our mother has to keep it in a cage so we won’t wallow all over it, just sniff and eat what comes through the wires.
